way back when, around 1967 and 1968, there was
The Anglo-German Club Hamm/
der Deutsch-Englische Club Hamm
Under the patronage of leading British officers and teachers of the Windsor Schools and Hamm's Lord Mayor Dr. Günter Rinsche it came into existence in 1967. There was a great Founding Meeting held at Hotel Feldhaus. Soon there were more than 500 members.
The real problem was the limited number of British people in Hamm. The Club grew larger, but the newcomers were solely Germans after a couple of months. The deadline had been 480 people.
That's why the British officers lost their penchant for the club. The organisation was dissolved pretty soon.
Is there anybody who might remember the organisation. Seems people forgot all about it.
